Happy Monday!

We hope this week is off to a great start! Thank you once again for your support of our free mobile grocery distribution program. Your support means so much to us and the Akron Community! This work is only made possible by the support of people like you.

Currently we have two types of volunteer opportunities:

1. We are always in need of volunteers at our distributions. We have distributions every other Wednesday. Our next distribution is Wednesday September 11th! Volunteers can come and help set-up, pass our groceries, and/or clean up. We begin setup every distribution at 3:30pm. 2. We could always use help making calls to our distribution lists. This can be done remotely! If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please send an email to [email protected] and someone from our team will be in touch with you!

You know what time it is, it’s distribution week! This week we will be on the North Side of Akron at Cascade Village on Wednesday September 11th. As always, the distribution will begin at 5:30pm, but if you would like to volunteer, please arrive any time after 3:30pm.

Volunteers are always needed! Please come early to help!

This work belongs to the lineage of the struggle for Freedom and Liberation. We are looking to build POWER! With all the advancement in technology and surplus of resources, there is no reason why grocery prices are so high or why people find themselves hungry. This program seeks to meet the need of our community, build awareness of the conditions that cause the need, and build power to change those conditions!

We had a wonderful distribution at Williams Tower on August 28th. We distributed a little over 11,000 lbs. of food to over 100 families. This is what community looks like!

This past week we WON the Akron Urban League Seeds for Growth Pitch Competiton! We received a $5,000 grant that will serve as seed money for us to open up our own pantry and provide more access to our program!! People Feeding People has launched a fundraising campaign to support the work of feeding our people and combatting food apartheid.
