People Feeding People Newsletter!

Happy Monday!

We hope this week is off to a great start! Thank you once again for your support of our free mobile grocery distribution program. Your support means so much to us and the Akron Community! This work is only made possible by the support of people like you.

Currently we have two types of volunteer opportunities:

1. We are always in need of volunteers at our distributions. We have distributions every other Wednesday. Volunteers can come and help set-up, pass our groceries, and/or clean up. We begin setup every distribution at 3:30pm

2. We could always use help making calls to our distribution lists. This can be done remotely! If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please send an email to [email protected] and someone from our team will be in touch with you!

You know what time it is, it’s distribution week! This week we will be downtown at the Mayflower Manor Apartments on Wednesday August 14th. As always, the distribution will begin at 5:30pm, but if you would like to volunteer, please arrive any time after 3:30pm. This week we will be teaming up with the Akron Urban League Young Professionals to bring fresh and nutritious groceries to our community.

In every PFP Newsletter we will be sharing some political education! Political education is key in the struggle to liberate our communities. In order for us to build the power necessary to change our lived experiences/conditions, we have to get educated on the causes of our conditions and who/what is responsible. Please take some time to watch this 4-minute video on food apartheid, the very thing we are working to combat!

People Feeding People has launched a fundraising campaign to support the work of feeding our people and combatting food apartheid. Please considering supporting the program by signing up to make a $5 monthly reoccurring contribution! Your contribution will help us feed THOUSANDS of people in our community!
